The Phonic team have been collaborating with researchers and businesses for several weeks on new and exciting features. Today we are exiting our beta and making these features widely available.
Our goal is to build beautiful, powerful and intuitive tools that make it easy to share with voice. Our update today is a step toward that vision.
Themes and Survey Appearance
Surveys can now be customized with a variety of high contrast themes, colours and fonts. Both the welcome image and the logo displayed in the upper left can be customized.
Question Stimuli
It is often useful provide a respondent with a stimulus (image, video, etc.) to measure their response or collect feedback. Some researchers even opt to record their own voice as the question prompt, conducting an "asynchronous interview". This update provides support for a wide variety of stimuli including images, audio and video. These can be uploaded to the platform directly or embedded using a Google Drive or Youtube link.
Question Timers
A timer can be added to any question, preventing the respondent from proceeding until a certain amount of time has passed. This can be used to help the respondent follow an instruction, for ex. "look at this image for 10 seconds" or "watch this entire video".
Microphone Check and Assistance
A microphone check can be optionally added to any survey. This gives the respondent the ability to verify their microphone and speakers are working correctly before they begin the survey. Should they encounter an issue, we've also provided support documentation to assist troubleshooting.
