Audio is a great way to collect high quality, authentic feedback. Voice data possesses the same virtues as unstructured text, however it yields longer responses, more descriptive language and unlocks an entire world of tonal analysis for researchers. These benefits are enough to make many add audio surveys to their research repertoire.
One challenge for new researchers in adopting audio surveys or taking their research online is the intractability of audio data. Keeping track of large files, multiple file formats, transcriptions and analytics can be challenging for just one researcher, but becomes impossible when multiple people need to collaborate and share data.
Today we're launching a set of updates aimed at making sharing seamless, collaboration easy and that extend Phonic's audio survey capabilities.
Respondent View
It's easier than ever to dig into an individual's responses with the new Respondent Tab. Respondent demographics are displayed in a table beside the corresponding responses. This data was always available in the Phonic dashboard, but this UX refresh brings respondent-level data front and centre.
Completion and Dropout Charts
The new Analysis tab features a high level overview of live survey metrics, including dropout and response rates over time.
Sharing Data
Phonic now provides the option for making survey data public, and offers a hosted player so audio can be shared using links instead of by sending full files. This player also displays the transcription, demographics and available voice analytics. Transcriptions can be edited and corrected in this screen as well.
